Caulfield Cup

I am thrilled to announce that I am going to be working with the Melbourne Racing Club again this year as their 2017 BMW Caulfield Cup Style Ambassador, this is my second year in the role, which is so exciting!

The BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival has always been my favourite racing event. It is the first event to launch the season and offers the best in fashion, trackside hospitality and of course racing. I love how Caulfield is so accessible – everything is in close proximity, so it’s very easy to get around and enjoy the day. Last year we saw the introduction of the David Jones Fashion Stable, which is a huge fashion precinct located just meters from the track with twice daily David Jones runways, champagne, and live music. I loved being there last year, it was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the fashion and also had a great view of the track, so I didn’t miss out on any of the action.

The Westfield Style Stakes is back again, which is a modern approach to the traditional Fashions on the Field competition. It allows racegoers to have fun with their style and show original flair in an image which is taken in custom-made studios located in the David Jones Fashion Stable. It’s going to be even bigger this year with introduction of cinemagraph booths and a new over 35’s category joining the Ladies, Lads, Squad (2-8 people) and Millinery.

Food and music is always a big focus at Caulfield, and this year LA and Melbourne will meet at The E.P & L.P Bar in the Heath Enclosure, and we can enjoy tunes by celebrity DJ and great Australian export Grant Smillie.

I am looking forward to being adventurous with my outfit this year.  Think more is more! We are going to see vibrant tones with red, pink and purple the most popular colours and wearing these tones from head to toe will be a strong look.

One shoulder necklines, one arm detailing and ruffles will also be a strong focus.

With our millinery, jeweled headbands and metallic details will be huge. I love this Lady Of Leisure piece I am wearing as it mixes jeweled tones, stars, and metallics in one piece for a fun look. I am always partial to a great boater or wide-brimmed hat to really make a statement.

I can’t wait to see all your looks trackside.
