This month, I have written about my love for modern classics for Witchery (full post here).

My everyday style consists of grey, black, white and minimal accessories. At times, I try to break out of this pattern but I always fall back to my trusty combination.

I can’t deny that I felt a little relief to notice all the clean and sharp dressing that has been gaining attention lately. It means I won’t need to adopt a new trend as it pairs with my personal style perfectly.

I have seen a push to angular, minimal shapes together with interesting textures to make an impact.

There is nothing I love more than wearing classic pieces like this kimono style grey knit with a staple pair of tailored pants. These simple looks that focus on quality, texture and shape make me feel good and reflect my mood best.

I like to play with the season’s most popular colour combinations of stone, grey, navy and black. Opting for a tonal look has been my favourite way to dress this winter. I like to focus on one colour from head to toe but throwing in different shades, fabrics and varying lengths to create a striking layered look.

Experimenting with texture; faux furs, felts, crepe and silks all work together to create a unique yet wearable look.

This year the proportions have swapped with a focus on more volume up top with over-sized shoulders, exaggerated V-necks and detailed arms. Long lined sleeveless vests with wide leg pants give a twist to your classic roll neck knit.

Sporty vibes are my favourite way to add some individual flair to my classic look.

Beauty wise, it’s time to introduce creamy, light foundations with some added moisture. My skin gets so dry in winter (the heaters I blast in my office combined with the chilly conditions outside are no doubt to blame). A statement berry or burgundy lip is my go to and it prettily pairs with all the grey, navy and black that we will be wearing.

For those of you that find a statement lip hard to wear (I do get frustrated when it ends up all over my coffee cup), lush nude lips are still trending. A barely there nude lip works with biscuit, champagne and copper tones on your eyes. A light lip allows you to play up with your eyes, bronzing up your skin with a peachy cheek is fun in winter and easy to wear.
