My favourite beauty look to rock is barely there nude lips. I love skin that looks fresh, dewy and bronzed.

I always focus on my eyes with biscuit brown shades during the day and smoky brown/copper looks at night and nothing teams with smoky eyes better than a bit of nude on the lips.

It can get confusing to know which nude tone is best for you. I own about 20 different shades depending on my mood.

It is so important to look at the undertones in your skin and pick a shade that suits you best. You don’t want to look washed out ( or zombie like) which can happen if you go for a lippy too that is too white for you.

Fair Skin: If you have fair skin, you have cool undertones so you should look for nudes that have a slightly pink or rosy finish.

You don’t want your lips blending into the colour of your face. Try Oliva Colour Balm from Stila, Bobbi Brown Beige, Clé De Peau Beauté in 101

Medium Skin: I have a medium to olive completion with golden undertones so I look for shades that have a honey tone. Sometimes I like to mix it up with nudes that have a orange or peachy undertone when I want to make a statement.

I use MAC HoneyloveHourglass No.4 (I actually wore this tone on my wedding day, I love it so much. or Nars Blonde Venus on rotation.

Olive Skin: If you have beautiful darker skin you have a lot more versatility. A lighter nude or darker nude both suit you.

Chocolate shades always work well as they bring out your natural lip colour and your tanned skin tone can carry it well. Try Hourglass Mauve Beige or MAC Peachstock

Other tips:

Use lipliner as a base for your lipstick, this will help if your lips are uneven.

Make sure you lips are in perfect condition, so exfoliate to create a smooth surface.

Look for nudes in semi-matte so your lips don’t look too flat. If you have a matte that you love and don’t want to give it up, dab some nourishing lipgloss ( I love Go-To Lip Balm) in the middle of your lips so they look more dimensional and keeps them supple.

Frosty nudes are a big no no.
