Yippee, Spring is finally here and that means it’s time to think racing. I love everything about the Spring Racing season, from the party atmosphere, the stunning fashion and lets not forget the amazing sporting event we get to be a part of.
This year my hubby and I have teamed up with THE ICONIC as their Spring Racing ambassadors. Jim and I have both loved the races for many years. He follows the action on the track closely, and whilst I am interested, I prefer all the amazing fashion action.
We had fun shooting these Spring Racing looks together, it’s hard trying to rock serious model poses when someone is pinching your behind (naughty Jim).
I have been shopping at THE ICONIC since it launched (you probably already know this as I link to their site frequently) they have all the brands I love like By Johnny, Josh Goot, Cameo, Camilla & Marc, Lover, J Brand and the list goes on.
It’s also perfect for me as I can be quite disorganised and items can be delivered straight to my door within 3 hours, so it’s vey handy.
They have some really cool options for the races this year that cater for each day. It’s important to take note of the dress code on each day. We all know that Derby Day is black and white, so make sure you play up with monochrome tones on the day. By Johnny, Finders Keepers, Lover and Josh Goot have some cool options. Think about incorporating different textures, prints and matching two-piece sets to make it interesting, I love leather, cut-outs and geometric prints. Shop Derby Day styles here.
Cup Day is all about colour, I like to be a little adventurous on this day. Maybe it’s a colour you wouldn’t normally wear (I think about pink or orange). Last year it was all about bold, bright prints. This year, we will see more pastel tones with baby blue, lilac and yellow popular.
Red and different shades of blue will also be a strong trend down the track. Cameo, Talulah, Camilla & Marc, River Island and Shona Joy have nailed Cup Day looks. Shop perfect Cup Day styles here.
Oaks Day is the day to play up your feminine and pretty side. I think everyone makes such an effort with their outfit on this day (men included). Florals and lace will be strong looks this year. If you’re like me and and not really into florals, think about rocking a plain baby blue or pastel pink dress then introducing some fine lace with your headwear and some floral printed shoes, that a way to introduce the trend without looking too pretty.
Atmos & Here, By Johnny and Keepsake The Label have some gorgeous printed and floral looks. Shop some of my favourite here.
I will be wearing a By Johnny outfit to one of the race days and Jim will be decked out in The Iconic too. I can’t wait to share my looks with you trackside.
