NEON : These fluro tones are the perfect way to stand out in a crowd. Neon colours always make you look darker (always handy) and this season there has never been more choice with sporty styles and exposed zips very popular. You may remember seeing the bright orange one-piece from Gnash Swim I wore in the Maldives?! (I love a bit of neon).
BLACK AND WHITE: My love for mono tones also translates to my swimwear, you can’t beat these classic colours down at the beach. It is the season for the one-piece (I have succumbed to a few pieces, I don’t even care about the bad tan lines they create) there has also been a shift to luxury fabrics.
PASTEL: Sorbet coloured swimmers are a soft, beautiful and feminine option this season. It’s a nice change from bright neon’s and black and white. It’s so easy for almost any skin tone to rock these colours. American Apparel has an extensive range of swimwear styles from the full-piece, cut-out, pastel and metallic tones.
CUT-OUT: The cut-out is just as popular with swimwear as it is with our ready to wear. Think sheer panels or slithers of skin, some of these styles are so high-end you can pop on your denim shorts and run out of the door. The cut-out and the high-cut bottom are two of the strongest swimwear trends this year.
PRINT: The print proves to be popular every season, it’s no different this year. From digital prints to leopard and floral tones, there is so much to choose from. Mesh and neoprene fabrics are combined with the print to create a sporty feel.
