Caulfield Cup Style Ambassador

I am so thrilled to finally be able to share with you all that I have been announced as the 2016 Caulfield Cup Style Ambassador. I am so excited as this role combines my two passions of racing and fashion. The Caulfield Cup Carnival has always been my favourite carnival as it is the first race event of the season which means we can have fun with our fashion and it’s always such an inclusive and relaxed event.

It’s an exciting time to be working with Melbourne Racing Club as they are shaking things up with their new fashion offering, so I am excited to be a part of it.

This year we are going to see the launch of The David Jones Fashion Stable, which will be an elegant fashion precent that will be located just five meters from the track (woo hoo) so it gives us the best view of the track and will feature live David Jones runway shows, roving fashion illustrations and the Chandon Rose Bar. Also, it is free for general admission ticket holders, so everyone gets to combine their love of fashion and racing during the Caulfield Cup Carnival.

The new Westfield Style Stakes is delivering a modern, fresh approach to traditional Fashions on the Field.

It is a new fashion competition where entrants are judged on their photograph and original flair rather than their runway walk. Say goodbye to traditional heats and sashes, and prepare to pose for a photographer onsite at Caulfield Racecourse. There will also be a makeup artist on hand for little touch ups to make sure we are all looking our best.

Each entrant arrives at the Style Stakes Photographic Studio and poses for the photographer, then submits their best three shots for judging. The photos are also sent directly to our phones so they can be uploaded to social media immediately which will open up the event to a broader audience.

There are four categories to the competition – Lads, Ladies, Professional Millinery and for the first time, “Squad”. I love this new category as up to 8 people can pose for a pic together, and I think we are always more powerful when we have our friends with us. Registrations are already open for Guineas day HERE and Caulfield Cup day HERE

These photos were taken from my first day on the job, and I loved wearing this gorgeous lilac Rachel Gilbert lace number (which will drop in store in October) lace in a pastel hue (think baby pink, blue, lilac and event mint) will definitely be one of the biggest trends this spring season along with sweet metal crowns and fluted sleeves.

I look forward to sharing all my spring racing fashion tips and looks with you in the coming weeks.
