Lavazza was the place to be on Melbourne Cup Day, I know I sound cliché, but it really was. It was filled with the hottest crowd, a cool energetic vibe and amazing food from the award winning Italian Sydney restaurant, Pilu at Freshwater.
The fashion was vibrant and bold, as to be excepted on colourful Cup Day. Red, green and pink were the most popular colours seen on the ladies, with lace, sheer panels and a longer hemline also very popular.
We were also lucky to have the presence of international superstar, the queen of neo-soul Erykah Badu, boy oh boy does that woman know how to work a crowd. She got up on stage and greeted us with her sweet soul voice, she then proceeded to sing some of her hits. She even joined violinist Sally Cooper on the marble espresso bar later in the day. Ty Wood was another fabulous international guest.
Other local celebrity guests included my gorgeous friend Rebecca Judd with her hubby Chris Judd, super stylish Nicole Warne, Tash Oakley, Rachael Finch, Montana Cox, Shane Warne, Nick Giannopoulos, Lydia Schiavello, Tahnee Atkinson, Helen O’Connor from the label Thurley, Johnny Schembri from By Johnny (I was lucky to be wearing one of his cool outfits) Tully Smyth and Lana Wilkinson.
