How A Week At Glow Camp Changed My Skin

When you get asked to spend a few days in Byron Bay with the founder of Scandinavian skin care brand Ole Henrikson you always say yes. Especially when you are told you are going to Glow Camp. I had no idea what Glow Camp was, but anything with glow in it when it’s associated with your skin sounds good in my books. I quickly learnt that it is a concept that Ole created, he does it all over the world. It is all about finding your inner and outer glow, he calls it the #OleGlow. You work on spending the time to re-connect with yourself. He also evaluates your skin and puts you on a new skincare regime.

Of course, I jumped at the chance to attend. I was already a fan of the brand. I have used the Truth Serum in the past, and it is an incredible product packed with Vitamin C which actually works (other’s also agree, as it is the number one anti-aging product sold at Sephora worldwide). I am a skincare nerd- I love products with active ingredients because that means they can penetrate the skin and make a difference. Ole owns a skin clinic in Beverly Hills –which he has run for 42 years, so he knows first-hand how powerful those active ingredients are and he uses them at a high potency.

I arrived in Byron feeling so exhausted. Aston still isn’t sleeping, and the night before flying out was one of his worst nights, so I was feeling particularly tired. Walking into The Bryon at Byron, the first person I met was Ole.  He ran across the room and greeted me with the biggest smile and a huge bear hug. He is just the sweetest and loveliest man. I couldn’t believe his incredible energy and aura, and he was so uplifting and positive to be around for the entire week.

It was so great learning about the re-brand of the Ole Henrikson products as now his range is colour coded with packaging inspired by Henrickson’s heritage. The four collections TruthTransformNurture and Balance. They are designed to address key skin concerns including oily, dull and uneven skin. I have an oily t-zone, and then I can be quite dry and suffer from pigmentation on other areas on my face, so he prescribed products from the different collections. The Invigorating Night Transformation Gel and Invigorating Night Transformation Creme from the Transform range at night which is loaded with AHA’s that works to improve skin tone, fine lines and brighten your skin.

The Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser and Hydrator . He also gave me the Power Peel which is an incredible professional-strength three-step resurfacing system scrub, facial peel and mask with smoothing and brightening power. I have used this one quite a few times now, and wow, I feel like I have gone to my skin clinic to get a professional peel- it just transforms my skin.

Throughout the next few days, I enjoyed incredible spa treatments. I loved the Berry Nurturing Gel Mask as it’s super nourishing and smells so good with blueberry extracts, ProVitamin B5 and aloe vera juice.

We also enjoyed cooking classes (using fresh ingredients inspired by Ole’s products) which was lots of fun, especially for me as I am not the best cook. We also enjoyed a trip to Crystal Castle (see some of the pics below). Back in Melbourne, I was also lucky to spend a few more days with Ole in-store at Sephora, hosting a beauty event.

I have now been using his products (The Truth Serum, Night Transformation Gel, Counter Balance Oil Control) with my other regular skincare and I am seeing some great results. I have noticed much smoother and brighter skin with less bumps. I can’t wait to keep using them and hopefully I can share further improvements with you soon.
