I thought it was fitting to wear one of my favourite Australian designers Manning Cartell on glorious Oaks Day. Oaks Day is traditionally known as one for the ladies as it allows us to celebrate our feminine and pretty side. I noticed lots of popping colours, lace and pastel tones at the track yesterday.

I fell in love with this new Manning Cartell print as soon as I laid eyes on it. I am obsessed with animal prints this season as this dress has the perfect mix of cheetah print and colour. The sheer panelling down the sides, middle and back gives the dress amazing structure and allows the colours to pop without being overwhelming, Oaks is all about having a little fun so I thought it was appropriate.

The canary yellow was my favourite colour in the mix so Lana Wilkinson and I decided to dial up this tone up with a yellow clutch and off centre ‘Bunny’ styled headpiece that had the same black running through the yellow which worked perfectly with the tone in the dress.

I turned to my handy hair stylist Marie from Uva Salon to give me a messy pony, I hardly ever wear my hair up but this dress needed it and I really loved it off my face (well it wasn’t totally off me face but more that usual). Marie also clipped in some extensions the same length as my hair to give me hair a little more volume in my pony. On my face Chantelle was inspired by the colours in the dress and used golds, black and browns to create a smoky look with my eyes we then kept the lips nude (my favourite).
